Fireside Lodge Fishing Report 7/13 to 7/20 2013

Giant 20-inch Trophy Smallmouth Bass Fishing in Canada

Besides having some small storms moving in & out all week the weather was summer like & slightly more humid than normal, however the fishing was very good.

Fly-Fishing Trophy Smallmouth

Brothers Jon & Jerry Mundy from La Canada, CA & Tripoli, WI, Ron Magan from Minocqua, WI, John Jursa from Hawthorne Woods, IL, & Father & son Dick & Kevin Hansen from Woodruff, WI & Belleville, IL were all here for their 1 ^st time. After a few days on the water learning their way around they started to do well. The 2nd day Ron & Jon caught a lot of Pike while Jerry & John saw the biggest fresh water fish of their lives. 3^rd day had Kevin & Dick landing 20-25 Pike up to 33”, Ron & Jon caught a few less, & John & Jerry spent most of their day chasing that huge fish they saw the day before. 4^th day had most of them chasing bigger fish, had some big follows, caught fish, but no trophies. 5^th day had Ron & Jon leading the pack catching over 60 Northern Pike. Kevin & Dick after supper, and some worthy discussion of fly-fishing locations which produced as Kevin landed a beauty 19.5” Trophy while fly fishing. 6^th and final day was an excellent numbers day as Jerry & John caught 60 Pike & the other two boats caught between 25-30 each. Jon said some were between 30-34”. Even though the Big Trophy fish eluded this group they left saying they thoroughly enjoyed their stay with us at Fireside Lodge.

Charles Corwin & good friend Ron Tietz from El Campo & San Antonio, TX were visiting us for their 1^st time. 1^st day out was a learning process while catching a few fish. 2^nd day had them catching about a half dozen Pike and a few Smallmouth Bass. Then the Fireside Lodge magic took over & as has happened in the past previous guest Jeff & son Jacob took Charles & Ron under their wing & had them catching a whole bunch of Northern Pike on their 3^rd day, then ended up playing cards together that evening. On their 4^th and final day Charles ended up fishing with Jeff & Ron with Jacob. Well Ron & Jacob had some great Smallmouth Bass action along with a few Pike, while Jeff was able to lead Charles to his first ever Muskie, a big 38” barred Musky. Great catch for Charles along with a terrific act of kindness form Jeff & son Jacob. Ron also, learned how to fly-fish during his stay & was able to use the beautiful gift his wife had given him. Both left really enjoying their stay & were talking of their future return.

Father Jeff Hill from River Forest, IL, was returning to Fireside Lodge for his 4^th trip & bringing his son Jacob. These two had an absolute blast. 1^st day they did terrific catching a bunch of Smallmouth Bass & Northern Pike & Jacob caught his 1^st ever Muskie measuring 38.5”. That’s a “LARGE” day fishing. Next day was equally good, catching over 40 Northern Pike with a few

Smallmouth Bass & Jacob had another fishing feat landing a trophy 19” Smallmouth Bass. In the mean time Jeff & Jacob befriended Charles & Ron (above) & ended up fishing with them for a few days, which enabled Charles & Ron to shorten their learning curve & helped them get into a bunch of Northern Pike one day. On their last they had lunch together actually switching boats with Charles fishing with Jeff & Jacob with Ron. Well Ron & Jacob had a blast hooking & catching Smallmouth Bass, Ron commenting that Jacob was a very good fisher. In the other boat Jeff & Charles accomplished another 1^st, which was Charles landing his 1^st ever Muskie, and beauty measuring 38.5”. Congrats to all and especially Jeff & Jacob for sharing their fishing time & knowledge to help some fellow fishermen.

Great BIG Pike Fishing at Fireside Lodge Canada by Ron Ramsey

Father & Son Bob & Ron Ramsey from Leavenworth, KS and Asheville, NC returned for their 9^th consecutive year. This teams main purpose is to hunt down big toothy critters. Being experienced on the lake gives them knowledge needed in locating large Muskie & Northern Pike. They had 4 good days out of 5 having countless follows from bigger fish and getting some of those monsters to show up. They caught their fair share of Pike between 28 to 35”, and had some close encounters with a few very large fish. The largest Muskie landed was by Bob and it measured out at 38.5”. Besides the fishing the real reason these two are here is to enjoy some valuable father & son time together & there is no better place to do that than in a boat on a lake in the Canadian Wilderness. Thanks for choosing Fireside Lodge to spend this special time together. Before departing they continued their tradition making reservations for 2014.

Big Trophy Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Best of friends Pat Hobson from Elwood, IN & Larry Hinshaw from Blue Grass, IA returned for their 7th trip. First two days they caught some Smallmouth Bass but on the 3^rd day they really connected catching 32 Smallmouth Bass 14 between 14” to 17.5” & Pat landed a Master Anglers Trophy Smallmouth Bass at 18”. 4 ^th day they battled high winds but the Big Smallies were biting as they landed 15 nice Big Smallmouth Bass & Pat caught a HUGE Trophy Smallmouth Bass measuring 20”. Next day they ventured into some new areas they never fished before doing very well ending up with 32 Smallmouth Bass, most leaning in the 15-16” range with a few 17”ers. 6^th day had them off to a portage lake and under very windy conditions managed to catch 15 Big Smallmouth Bass with Pat landing another Master Anglers Award Trophy at 18”. 8^th day was cold front conditions however they caught 17 Smallmouth Bass between 15 to 17.5” & Larry caught a Trophy at 18” and a couple of nice Pike. Not bad for a summer cold front. Final day they finished well catching 20 Smallmouth and Larry landed a Trophy Smallmouth measuring 18.5”. Both had a fabulous stay and hope to return in 2014.

Ray & Barbara Glass, from Houston, TX visited us for their 1^st time. 1^st day was spent catching a few fish & learning their way around. 2^nd day had them catching 12 Northern Pike. 3^rd day they really tuned it on catching 33 Northern Pike. 4^th day had them besting the previous day again catching 35+Northern Pike. On their 5^th & final day they decided to take on the challenge of

targeting large Musky & Northern Pike. They did well catching some fish up to 34”, however the larger trophy fish eluded them this time. On this last day they took some time to have lunch at Twin Falls, and really enjoyed their first experience seeing this natural wonder. Both said they enjoyed their stay and Barbara in a statement the night before they left said that “when the come back”, which we certainly hope they do.

Best Smallmouth Fishing in Canada at Fireside Lodge

David Jewell & Todd Plumley from Pineville & Hamlin, WV., returned to enjoy our great Smallmouth Bass fishing. DOA these two got right into the Smallmouth Bass catching 32, several Pike and Todd caught a trophy 19" Smallmouth Bass. 1st full day they caught 44 Smallmouth Bass, most between 14-16.5”, several 17-17.5”, and each caught an 18” Trophy Smallmouth Bass. 2^nd day the caught close to 30 fish being a mix of Smallmouth Bass & Northern Pike. 3^rd day they caught 35-40 Northern Pike & 10 Smallmouth Bass with David being the Master Anglers today landing an 18” Trophy SB. 5^th & final day they were faced with high winds but they were still able to find productive areas having a great last day catching 53 Smallmouth Bass, 7 Northern Pike & Todd caught a Tiger Muskie. They both had a great time & David said they will return in 2014 with their other 2 fishing buddies Wendell & Bob.

George Carney with father-in-law Tom Miller from Madison WI retuned for their 8^th consecutive year. DOA these two came out of the gate quick catching 20 Northern Pike & 5 Smallmouth Bass. 1^st full day was a blast as they caught a bunch of Smallmouth Bass 14-16”, several

Terrific Trophy Fishing for Bass at Fireside Lodge Canada

Northern Pike 34-36” & Tom caught a 17.5” Smallmouth Bass & a 35” Muskie. 2^nd day was HUGE as they caught 52 Northern Pike & each caught a trophy 18.5” Smallmouth Bass. The girth on these Smallmouth were very impressive. 4^th day was very tough because of high winds. 5^th day was another Big Pike day as they caught every bit of 50+ Northern Pike. 6^th & final day they had high winds all day but caught plenty of Smallmouth & Pike in the morning, then after a nap & supper they went to their favorite traditional last night fishing spot & finished by catching a bunch of Northern Pike. Both said the hope to see us for their 9^th trip in 2014.

Fireside Lodge Fishing Report 7/6 to 7/13 2013

It was another terrific mid-summer week in Northwest Ontario however we did have a few Thundershowers which is expected at this time of year.

Big Trophy Smallmouth Bass Fishing Fireside Lodge Canada by Nick Ramsey

The Ramsey Family father & daughter Mike & Cathy from Roseville & Sacramento, CA and father Butch with sons Will & Nick from Hillsboro OH, were returning to fish with us again. 1^st day they tore them up catching a total of 76 Northern Pike. 2^nd day they were faced with a cold front, which, made fishing slow during the day, but after supper, caught over 20 Smallmouth Bass on sinking worms. 3^rd day was phenomenal as the group caught 200+ Northern Pike & 20+ Smallmouth Bass. Cathy caught her most ever at 17, & both Will & Nick landed BIG Master Anglers Award Trophy Smallmouth Bass. This was Cathy’s 1^st real fishing trip so this was a record day for her as she also caught her biggest at 30”. 4^th day was all about targeting bigger fish ending in good results as both Mike & Will tied each landing 35” Northern Pike, & Nick came out on top landing a nice 36” Muskie. 5^th day was an all out day leaving the dock at 5:30 am to maximize their fishing time. The results was a very strong finish catching 206 Northern Pike and over 40 Smallmouth Bass, most being big including 8 Trophy Size Smallmouth Bass 18” to 19”. Will caught 4, Nick 3, & Cathy caught her 1^st Trophy Smallmouth Bass at 18.25”. All had a FABULOIUS time and will be talking about the family fishing memories made at Fireside Lodge for years to come. Thanks for choosing Fireside Lodge for your family fishing vacation.

Jig Fishing for Trophy Smallmouth Bass at Fireside Lodge Canada

Ron & Lisa Vincent from Sherrills Ford, NC were back for their 14^th consecutive year. 1^st day out these two fished like 14-year veterans catching a lot of NP & SB on a special Jig that a friend of Ron’s ties for him. 2^nd day they did terrific catching over 60 fish, mostly large Smallmouth Bass. 3^rd day was all about Northern Pike catching over 50. On the 4^th day they were targeting Muskie & did very well. After they lost several big Muskie at boat-side during the netting process, Lisa managed to hook and land a beauty at 38.5”. She also caught several BIG SB. 5^th day they did really well catching over 35 Smallies, most being big, 12 Northern Pike and a 34” Musky. 6^th day Lisa guided Ron for a change & did great as they caught many Pike and Ron caught the biggest Northern Pike of his life, a 41.5” Trophy. Maybe Lisa needs to do the guiding more often? 7^th day was rain however Ron & Lisa discovered the Big Smallmouth Bass are in there summer pattern being primarily in the weeds between 8-13ft deep. They caught many & all were BIG. 8^th & final day was terrific as they caught over 80 Northern Pike and 6 Smallmouth Bass. Ron & Lisa come here to fish but always leave having great conversations with others & making new friends & many memories together.

Trophy Muskie Fishing at Fireside Lodge Canada by Jerry

Jerry & Susie Florea from Martinville, OH returned for their 2^nd consecutive year. 1^st day was great as they caught more fish in one day than ever before landing 28 Northern Pike. 2^nd day was not about numbers however these two experienced a first ever for the 2^nd day in a row as Jerry caught a HUGE 40” Muskie, his biggest to date. It was an impressive fish and the picture tells the whole story. 3^rd day was cut short by a big rainstorm, and the 4^th day high winds hampered everyone’s ability to fish where the wanted to fish. 5^th day ended up being very active as Jerry said he was getting many fish interested in his buzz bait, however the story of the day started as Susie was leaving the lodge after breakfast saying that she probably would not see the moose she was hoping to see. I told her that she still has one more day on the water and anything can happen. Guess what, they saw two moose, a cow with her calf & the got a great photo of both together. They were very excited explaining their special story in the dinning room. Jerry & Susie had such a wonderful time that they reserved the same dates for 2014 before departing.

Father & Son Ray & Mike Heika from Inverness, IL returned for their 5^th time. DOA these two caught fish right off the bat landing 10 fish within two hours. 1^st day

1st Trophy Muskie Fishing at Fireside Lodge Canada

2^nd day was dedicated to Muskie without great results but not without effort as they pounded the water for 8 hours, but the Muskie just were not cooperating on this day. 3rd day was very different searching for those BIG fish as they made contact having follows, and Mike caught the fish of his life after first landing a Trophy 19” Smallmouth Bass then he hooked & landed a HUGE 42” Muskie using a Silver Rap. Then Ray got in the act catching a 38.5” Northern Pike having a large girth. Both were smiles ear to ear telling their fish stories in the lodge. 4^th day had these two having a great numbers day catching Northern Pike until they got tired of catching them, then went is search of bigger fish. Mike caught a nice 17.5” Smallmouth Bass, both him and his dad had about 8 big follows and Ray caught a 33” fat Northern Pike. Both left really enjoying their time together and making another set of Father & Son memories.

Steve & Lawrence Sandler from Richmond Hill & Stouferville, ON, returned for their annual fishing trip with us at Fireside Lodge. 1^st day had them catch 25 fish, a combination of Northern Pike & Smallmouth. Steve said Lawrence definitely had the advantage with a Top Prop lure he was using. 2^nd day was so good that they were catching fish non-stop. They just could not keep count & estimated at 80-100 Northern Pike. When I asked how many they caught at their dinning room table they said that it felt like millions. 3^rd day Steve’s elbow was so soar that he asked for some fishing relief, which meant leeches. They caught 26 Smallmouth Bass & several Northern Pike. 4^th day was another Millions Pike day as they caught Northern Pike all day long & seemingly at will having another 80-100 fish day. Both left having a great time catching fish, and catching up with each other as brothers. Thanks for choosing Fireside Lodge to spend this special time together.

Steve & Nancy Jensen from Springfield, MO returned for their 3^rdyear together and Steve’s 11^th time. Steve strictly is fly-fishing however Nancy for the 1^st time brought a new spinning rod & reel. Well, she got a chance to break it in on their 1^st day as they caught over 30 fish, Nancy landing 8 Northern Pike, and Steve also caught a 17.5 and an 18.5” Trophy Smallmouth Bass. 2^nd day was a rain out with most retreating about 11 AM to noon. 3^rd day found them looking for the elusive Muskie, as Steve is still looking for his 1^st Fly-Fishing. The Muskie did not show up however they did catch a few Smallies & Pike. 4^th & final day had them finish strong catching about 30 fish. Both had a fabulous stay with us and made reservations for 2014 before leaving.

Tremendous Trophy Fishing for Smallmouth Bass at Fireside Lodge Canada

The family of Mike, Sue, and Any Pritzl returned for the great fishing and pristine wilderness we have to offer. 1^st day they went out & caught 35 Smallmouth Bass most being 15-16” with a few 17”+. Before fishing on their 2^nd day Sue had a goal of sighting a Moose so her & Mike went looking after breakfast and within 20 minutes saw a moose. Mike is hired as a Moose guide! After getting a few viewing moments it was off to fish Musky for Mike & Andy. After getting many follows and no takers, they fished for Smallmouth Bass between 3-5:30PM catching 25-30 nice fish. 3^rd & final day was a very strong finish as the caught well over 70 Northern Pike. WOW, what a great day of fishing & catching. All left enjoying their stay in anticipation of their next.

19-inch Trophy Smallmouth Bass by Connor Fishing at Fireside Lodge Canada

Mark McDermotte with son Connor from Chicago, IL returned for Mark’s 6^th trip, Connor’s 2^nd. First day was gangbusters as they caught over 50 Northern Pike and several really big Smallmouth Bass with Connor landing a Trophy over 18”. 2^nd & 3rd days they were in search of Big fish having tons of follows & catching a fair share of 28 to 36” Northern Pike. 4^th day was another numbers day as the caught well over 60 Northern Pike up to 32”. 5^th & final day was spent Trophy hunting for toothy critters. Well, they made plenty of contact seeing a bunch of BIG fish and catching some in the 30-36” class. After supper that evening they hit a pre-storm bite that Mark never experienced before having fish all over their lures. If fact a Muskie leaped out of the water after a lure Mark had already removed from the water. Both left having a GREAT father & son trip making reservations for 2014 before departing.

Friends Mike Kamp from Chicago, IL, Chris Cusick from Bolingbrook, IL Tony Weber from LaFayette, IN and Ken Benkeser from Clover, SC returned for their 5^th visit

HUGE 20-inch Trophy Smallmouth Bass Fishing at Fireside Lodge Canada

with us at Fireside Lodge. 1^st full day of fishing they took out 6-dozen leeches between them & caught a Smallmouth Bass for every leech along with several NP. That’s between 60-70 Smallies. 2nd day was very rainy and they were at the dock by 11:00AM. 3rd day had Ken & Tony catching over 50 Pike while Mike & Chris Musky hunted getting lots of action & Chris caught a 38.5” Muskie. 4^th day the roles were reversed with almost the same results. Mike & Chris caught over 50 Pike and Tony just about landed a Trophy Muskie, upper 40” range, but flopped out of the net leaving only Tony’s lure. Ken did land a Trophy 20” Smallmouth Bass. After some psychiatric care for Tony and a little pep talk the following morning Tony & Mike went back to chase those Muskie with some success, but Trophy Musky Tony lost the day before did not show. All had a GREAT trip & can’t wait to return.

Fireside Lodge Fishing Report 6/29 to 7/6 2013

Fishing BIG Tiger Muskie at Fireside Lodge Canada

Talk about GREAT weather and how about the Fishing! It was GRRRRREAT!

Great Trophy Smallmouth Bass Fishing at Fireside Lodge Canada by Jerry

Jerry & Wanda Miller from Erwin, TN returned to Fireside Lodge for Jerry’s 18^th year. Thrilled to be here to enjoy the surroundings & lakeside cabin they were also here to catch Smallmouth Bass & they got right to it catching 15 the 1^st day and 25+ on both the 2^nd, 3^rd, & 4th days, which was all top-water fishing for Jerry while Wanda stuck with a leech, & most were between 15 to 17.5”. 5^th Day was super as they caught 35-40 Smallmouth Bass all between 14-17.5”. The next two days were 40+ Smallmouth Days with most being large fish & Jerry caught two Master Angler Award Smallmouth Bass between 18-18.75” & Wanda caught three trophy Smallmouth Bass, two at 18” & one huge 19” beauty. Besides the fishing these two quit and are back at their cabin every day by 3-3:30 in the afternoon, enjoy a little rest & then spend the rest of the evening either on their cabin deck or on our new on the water lakeside deck. They both had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and left with some great memories and are already looking forward to their visit in 2014.

Great Muskie Fish at Fireside Lodge Canada by Marilyn Foos

Joe & Marilynn Foos from Alpharetta, GA returned for their 5^th consecutive year. 1^st day they went out and just hammered the Northern Pike, catching so many Joe said that they could have caught all they wanted & it was just a matter of how long they wanted to fish. After catching so many Pike they decided to focus on Smallmouth Bass the rest of the week and did very well catching 30 + Smallmouth on several days & the rest fell somewhere between 20-30 Smallies. They did catch some Pike fishing for Bass & a very exciting event happened when Marilynn tied into a big Musky on Bass tackle. The fish gave her a great fight but Marilynn stuck with it even after stumbling on the boat seat actually ending up sitting on the boat floor. She was able to keep her rod up and kept reeling still applying tension & managing to land this Muskie. Joe held it for her as they took a nice fish photo of a great fishing memory together. They also enjoyed the wilderness & a few lake swims. They had a wonderful trip & reserved their dates for 2014 before departing.

Double Trophy Smallmouth Bass Fishing Fireside Lodge Canada

Long time guests Jack & Steven Starnes from Wise & Duffield, VA were back for their 9^th traditional father & son trip. They did very well catching anywhere from 30 to over 100 Smallmouth Bass every day & the Northern Pike fishing was also great. On a few days they managed to land 40 to 50 Pike and a few other days 20-30 toothy critters. The one special day that stood out was one of the lower fish numbers day. On this memorable fishing day they were musky fishing all day and ended up hooking up on 11 Muskie and Landing 9 all between 30-41-inches. WOW!!!!!, that’s a phenomenal Muskie fishing day which any Musky fisher would be thrilled to experience of a lifetime. Both left having a super trip and reserved their dates for 2014.

Ladies Fly-Fishing for Trophy Smallmouth Bass at Lodges Canada

First Time guests Glen & Amy Marks from Middletown, CA & Glen’s sister Claudia Kanne from Durango, CO. were here to discover & take in the total experience as they have never been fishing in Ontario before. 1 ^st day they did well catching fish and learning. Big feat was Claudia catching a very large Smallmouth Bass Fly-Fishing. Next day was fabulous as they caught over 35 Northern Pike & lost nearly as many. 3^rd day was a special event day as in an attempt to have Amy catch some Smallmouth Bass Glen rigged up a lite weight rod with 6lb line, a bobber & an imitation leech. Well food is food to a fish so a Northern Pike decided to eat Amy’s leech & the fight was on. After the fish went under the boat several times, flopped out of the net & almost got hung in the motor, Amy was able to land this very large 36” Pike. Mike & Jennie (below) came over to assist & took a great photo of all three with Amy’s Pike. Day 4 had Claudia in the lime lite, as she was able to land a 38” Northern Pike on a #4 weight fly rod on a leech pattern fly. WOW!! What a great accomplishment. 5^th day they again did well catching close to 30 Pike and on the final day in Glen’s quest to catch a Musky Amy & Claudia decided to guide Glen around since he was doing this for them the last 5 days. Goal for the day was a Muskie for Glen. After several hard strikes & 1 big fish lost do to his line breaking, Glen hooked into a large fish casting Salmo Pike lure into a rocky point with a good drop off. After a very good fight Glen landed a Trophy fish but not a Muskie. It was a HUGE 40” Lake Trout. Fabulous way to end a memorable family fishing trip.

Ladies Fishing Large Northern Pike at Fireside Lodge Canada

Mike Heinl and Jennie Carso from Pittsburgh, PA were here to fish enticed by our weekly fishing reports & fishing video. These two were like old pros catching 35 fish the 1^st day, 30SB & 5NP. Second day was over 20 SB & NP but also saw some big toothy critters follow their lures. 3^rd day was another over 20 fish day but it started with a special event in the early morning for Mike as he viewed a Bull Moose come down to the lake & swing across a narrows. That’s a catch Mike was not expecting. 4^th day started much the same way but in a different bay & Mike again was able to have the good fortune of seeing a Moose. It stayed around for a long while Mike looked again in awe at such a spectacular sight. He took some video and enjoyed the moment. This was also a great fishing day as they caught a lot of Smallmouth Bass & Northern Pike winding up with close to 35 fish. 5^th day was dedicated to Muskie fishing for over 12 hours. Mike said they had a very good day hooking several, seeing 30-40 fish, many very large, and landing one. Now they know where some big Musky live. Final day they finished very strong landing over 60

Northern Pike Fishing at is best at Fireside Lodge Canada

Northern Pike, and losing half that many. They left very excited about the fishing & learning experience, also having met some wonderful people. Mike said he intends on visiting us for two weeks in 2014.

First time visitors of Fireside Lodge were father & son Rex & Dick Stentz from Powell, OH & West Chester, PA. These two were focused on Big Muskie & Northern Pike with a preference for Musky. They started out of the gate quickly catching several nice Northern Pike, Dick caught a 17.5” Smallmouth Bass & Rex had the catch of the day with a BIG 41.5-inch Tiger Musky, setting the Musky bar pretty high. Over the next 3 days they could not break the 41.5” Muskie but had a lot of fun trying. They had fun exploring the news waters, discussing fish location, lure type, presentation, & fishing techniques with other guests at suppertime. They caught some nice Northern Pike during the rest of their stay & most of all made another memorable set of father and son fishing memories together. Thanks for choosing us to do so.

1st Muskie by Steve Mason Fishing at Fireside Lodge Canada

Steve Mason from Burlington, ON is the organizer of the Brewers group who has been taking an annual fishing trip together for many years. Also from Ontario were Helen from Fergus, Joel from Toronto, Travis Audet from St Louis, MO, Roy Zancanella & John Algya from Golden, CO, and Eric Warner from Houston, TX with his two sons Ian also from Houston and Aidan from Greeley, CO. Great fishing is what this group had for their 1st day ever on Little Vermilion Lake System. Steve & Travis led the pack catching 41 Northern Pike, Eric, Adan, & Ian caught over 20, with Helen & Joel landing 10 fish, however Helen caught the Big fish of the day, a 35” Pike, and both her & Joel had two big fish bite them off. 2^nd day had Helen & Joel catching 43 with 8 doubles & Steve & John caught 34 Northern Pike. 3^rd day was a hunt for BIG fish targeting Muskie with great results as Steve caught his 1^st ever Musky at 38.5”; with Helen right behind catching a 38” Tiger Musky & a 35.5” barred Muskie. 4^th day was the groups traditional contest day with the results being Travis getting the most fish award with 23 Northern Pike & Smallmouth Bass, Ian caught the biggest Smallmouth Bass, Joel & Adan tied for the biggest Northern Pike at 33” & Joel got the BIG Muskie prize landing a beauty measuring 40”. Also, Adan while trolling for BIG Musky caught a huge 34” Lake Trout, which is a great, catch even though it did not qualify for a prize. All left having a fabulous time & are already trying to coordinate dates for their 2014 fishing trip.
